August Craft Month (ACM) is an annual celebration of contemporary craft that takes place across Northern Ireland. It comprises over one hundred craft events including talks, exhibitions and demonstrations. ACM is supported by Arts Council NI and Invest NI.

 

Each year ACM adopts a different theme and in 2012 it was MADE in Northern Ireland.   

Participants were encouraged to visit makers’ studios and witness creativity in action, or if they preferred, try their hand out at one of the many workshops.

To give the publication a unique identity we created a 3D version of the slab serif, Archer, a typeface that according its creators is  Sweet but not saccharine, earnest but not grave, Archer hits just the right notes of forthrightness, credibility, and charm .

 

Constituent elements from the 3D letterforms were used as graphic devices throughout the publication along with photo-vérité of the makers at work.
