Project
Urban / Medium
As part of a community engagement project in support of The Connswater Community Greenway the landscape architects Paul Hogarth Ltd set up a weekly blog.
Over 52 weeks, greenway users were encouraged to send in photographs of the flora and fauna that were now flourishing along the banks of the Connswater, Loop and Knock rivers. These featured in the Growing on the Greenway blog along with notes on the species’ characteristics and a fun fact.
The response was overwhelming, and we were asked to adapt the blog into book-form as a more permanent record of the project. To make it more interactive, and to introduce children to plant husbandry, we also attached a small packet of wildflower seeds to the back page.
Paul Hogarth Ltd entered the book for the prestigious Landscape Institute Awards 2019 - held in London - were it won two awards:
-
Communications & Presentation Award
-
President’s Award
Even better, Sir David Attenborough enjoyed a read through one of the copies!
