Music and The Man came home to east Belfast when Van Morrison played a series of gigs at his old school, Orangefield High, in the summer of 2014.
To commemorate this event, and to celebrate the people and places that inspired his greatest songs we helped create the Mystic of the East: Van Morrison Trail booklet.
A twelve-page booklet and fold-out map guided fans around the locations of east Belfast mentioned in his songs including Cyprus Avenue, Hyndford Street, The Beechie, Orangefield Park. At each stopping point, the relevant song could be downloaded and listened to on a smartphone.
The Van Morrison Trail guide was a great success and in the first 3 months there were over 1000 downloads of the audio trail.
The publication was developed in collaboration with Van Morrison’s company Exile Productions and is the official Van Morrison guide to east Belfast.
